Que ce soit en webdesign ou pour n’importe quel texte imprim\u00e9, il existe un \u00e9l\u00e9ment graphique qui reste trop souvent oubli\u00e9 : c’est l’interligne.<\/p>\n

Et pourtant, ces petits espaces, presque transparents, entre les lignes d’un texte sont tr\u00e8s importants. Ce sont eux qui permettront sa lisibilit\u00e9 (ou non). Alors, comment trouver le bon interligne, en fonction des situations ?<\/p>\n

Pourquoi l’interligne est-il aussi important ?<\/h2>\n

L’interligne, ce n’est pas anodin. S’il est trop petit, les lignes se toucheront et le texte sera presque illisible. Et s’il est trop grand, les lignes seront trop \u00e9loign\u00e9es\u2026 et donc le lecteur devra \u00e9galement faire plus d’efforts pour r\u00e9ussir sa lecture.<\/p>\n

Or, les gens n’ont pas envie de faire d’efforts. Surtout s’ils ne vous connaissent pas, ou s’ils sont sollicit\u00e9s par plein d’autres personnes, d’autres contenus, d’autres types de communication.<\/p>\n

\"Interligne<\/p>\n

L’interligne est donc une composante de votre pr\u00e9sentation. Mais il n’existe pas de r\u00e8gle absolue ou de chiffre d’espacement id\u00e9al correspondant \u00e0 toutes les situations. Ce chiffre d\u00e9pendra essentiellement de la police de caract\u00e8res que vous utiliserez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rassurez-vous : il existe cependant des astuces pour mieux adapter l’interligne.<\/p>\n

Quel serait l’interligne id\u00e9al ?<\/h2>\n

Si l’espacement le plus adapt\u00e9 pour am\u00e9liorer la lisibilit\u00e9 d\u00e9pend de chaque typographie, c’est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment elle que vous devez regarder de pr\u00e8s. La plupart des traitements de texte le calculent d’ailleurs automatiquement.<\/p>\n

L’interligne est donc bas\u00e9 sur un pourcentage : il devrait dans l’id\u00e9al repr\u00e9senter entre 130 et 150 % de la taille des caract\u00e8res.<\/p>\n

Vous pouvez aller l\u00e9g\u00e8rement au-de\u00e7\u00e0 ou au-del\u00e0 de ces chiffres, en fonction de la pr\u00e9sentation recherch\u00e9e, mais sans trop vous en \u00e9loigner non plus. D’autant qu’il y a des petites astuces suppl\u00e9mentaires \u00e0 conna\u00eetre.<\/p>\n

De plus petits caract\u00e8res n\u00e9cessitent des interlignages sensiblement plus importants. Ils demandent en effet plus d’attention pour \u00eatre lisibles, et donc cet espace suppl\u00e9mentaire reposera les yeux (le but doit toujours \u00eatre de penser \u00e0 l’utilisateur final, et de faciliter sa vie).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Calculez votre interligne pour le webdesign<\/h2>\n

Pour indiquer de mani\u00e8re pr\u00e9cise votre interlignage, et pour qu’il soit toujours pertinent sur les \u00e9crans, vous aurez besoin de le calculer en pixels.<\/p>\n

Afin de respecter les ratios indiqu\u00e9s pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment, vous pourrez utiliser la formule 1.6 em sur la commande line-height (qui d\u00e9finira un interligne \u00e9quivalent \u00e0 la taille de la police multipli\u00e9 par 1,6… quelle que soit la police utilis\u00e9e).<\/p>\n

Faut-il toujours utiliser le m\u00eame interlignage ?<\/h2>\n

Nous parlons ici de graphisme. Il y a les r\u00e8gles de base<\/a>, qui permettent d’obtenir des r\u00e9sultats toujours pertinents.<\/p>\n

Mais il est parfois int\u00e9ressant de savoir \u00e9galement s’affranchir des r\u00e8gles. Oui, selon l’impact que vous souhaitez donner \u00e0 votre texte. Oui, un interligne tr\u00e8s restreint ou, au contraire, tr\u00e8s espac\u00e9, aura un effet tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent et permettra d’attirer, peut-\u00eatre, plus d’attention.<\/p>\n

Mais \u00e0 condition de limiter cette disposition \u00e0 un texte tr\u00e8s court. Voire m\u00eame \u00e0 seulement quelques mots. Car, sinon, l’effort n\u00e9cessaire pour lire le texte d\u00e9tournera cette attention si durement acquise.<\/p>\n

Donc, m\u00eame dans les lettres, il faut du calcul. Et, dans un texte, il faut plus d’espace blanc que de caract\u00e8res pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s.
