Dans la conception des formulaires, deux s\u00e9lecteurs de r\u00e9ponse dominent : les checkbox et les toggle switch.<\/p>\n

Les checkbox se pr\u00e9sentent simplement sous la forme d’une case \u00e0 cocher, tandis que les toggle switch prennent la forme d’un interrupteur. Quoiqu’il en soit, leur fonction est similaire car tout deux permettent \u00e0 l’utilisateur de faire un choix, d’activer ou non une fonctionnalit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Beaucoup de designers pensent alors qu’il n’y a pas d’importance quant \u00e0 l’utilisation de l’un ou l’autre de ces s\u00e9lecteurs. Mais une mauvaise utilisation peut engendrer autant d’impr\u00e9vus que de confusion.<\/p>\n

Pour choisir entre une checkbox et un toggle switch, il convient de se concentrer, non pas sur l’action r\u00e9alis\u00e9e, mais sur le contexte d’utilisation.<\/p>\n

Dans quels cas utiliser une checkbox ?<\/h2>\n

Les cases \u00e0 cocher seront d’abord utilis\u00e9es lorsqu’une action explicite est requise pour appliquer des param\u00e8tres<\/strong>. C’est par exemple le cas lorsque l’utilisateur doit donner son accord pour recevoir ou non une newsletter lors de son inscription.<\/p>\n

Si le choix de l’utilisateur correspond \u00e0 une r\u00e9ponse de type “oui” ou “non”<\/strong>, vous utiliserez une checkbox. Un exemple tr\u00e8s concret est lorsque l’on vous demande si vous \u00eates d’accord avec les termes et conditions d’utilisation.<\/p>\n

Une autre indice pour faire votre choix : les cases \u00e0 cocher sont tr\u00e8s souvent accompagn\u00e9es d’un bouton du type “Envoyer” ou “Accepter”.<\/p>\n

Dans quels cas utiliser un toggle switch ?<\/h2>\n

Les toggle switch indiqueront toujours si une fonctionnalit\u00e9 est activ\u00e9e ou non.<\/p>\n

Ils sont donc utilis\u00e9s si la r\u00e9ponse est du type “marche \/ arr\u00eat” <\/strong>et lorsque l’utilisateur donne une r\u00e9ponse instantan\u00e9e.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Si une seule r\u00e9ponse est requise mais que vous souhaitez laisser le choix<\/strong> \u00e0 l’utilisateur c’est \u00e9galement le toggle switch qu’il faudra choisir.<\/p>\n

Il suffit de vous rendre dans les param\u00e8tres de votre smartphone pour avoir ces exemples d’utilisation du toggle switch : pour activer ou non votre wifi, le mode avion, pour choisir vos notifications, etc.<\/p>\n

De mani\u00e8re plus g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, vous devrez ins\u00e9rer les toggle switch lorsque les r\u00e9ponses de l’utilisateur concernent des fonctionnalit\u00e9s ind\u00e9pendantes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Contrairement aux cases \u00e0 cocher, les toggle switch ne sont jamais accompagn\u00e9s d’un bouton. En effet, si vous commencez par demander \u00e0 l’utilisateur de balayer vers la droite ou la gauche pour activer ou non une fonctionnalit\u00e9, et que vous finissez par lui demander de presser un bouton, vous allez semer la confusion dans son esprit.<\/p>\n

Enfin, lorsque l’\u00e9tat des toggle switch est modifi\u00e9, les utilisateurs attendent les effets de cette modification bien plus rapidement qu’avec les cases \u00e0 cocher. Par exemple, lorsque vous activez le mode avion de votre t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, vous vous attendez \u00e0 ce que ce changement se fasse imm\u00e9diatement.<\/p>\n
